Obituary

Berta “Vera” (Clemente) Herrington passed away at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield on October 20, 2014. She was 90 years old.

Vera was a longtime resident of Malden and Everett, and lived in Melrose for the past 6 years. She was a longtime parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Church in Everett and a member of the Morning Glory’s at the church.

Vera was the devoted wife of the late James Herrington. She was the beloved mother of James Herrington Jr. and his wife Ellen of Melrose, David Herrington and his wife Kathleen of Everett, MaryAnn DeCourcy and her partner Michael Dever of Saugus, and Terry Mahoney and her husband James of Shrewsbury. Vera was the sister of the late Eleanor Pingaro, Dorothy DiSario, Marion Cappellucci, John Clemente, Julia Petrucci, Lena Petto, Helen Cardello, Anthony Clemente, Ernest Clemente, and Evelyn Amoroso. She was the cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday October 24th at 9:00a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church 38 Oakes Street, Everett at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday October 23rd from 4-8pm. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
