Edward Arnold Watrous, 78, of Mystic died Friday, October 17, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 55 years.
He was born on July 22, 1936 in Ledyard, the son of Elisha and Jennie Watrous. He grew up in Ledyard and was a graduate of Fitch High School. He was a building contractor in the Mystic area for many years.1
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Beverly Welles of Mystic and three sons, Carl Watrous of Norwich, Jeffrey (Michele) Watrous of Hanover, and Wayne (Nancy) Watrous of Canterbury. He is also survived by his brother Glen (Ruth) Watrous of Savannah GA, and his sisters Louise Crouch of Oregon and Irene Schultz of Mystic, as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by brothers Elisha R. Watrous and Rev. Harold Watrous, and his granddaughter Patricia Watrous.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, October 26, at the Friendship Church, 384 Colonel Ledyard Highway in Ledyard from 2 to 3:00pm, followed by a 3:00 Funeral Service at the church. Burial will immediately follow in Ledyard Union Cemetery.
