Barbara A. (Bannan) Wright, Passed away peacefully on October 7, 2014. Born in Lawrence, MA, on March 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James and Josephine Bannan. She grew up in North Andover, attending Johnson High and going on to Mary Washington College in Virginia. Mrs. Wright had a modeling career in NY from 1943-1946. She met the late John W. Wright in 1947 and they married in 1949. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2005. She was also pre-deceased by two of her sons-Mark Wright in 1980, and Michael A. Wright in 1994. Mrs. Wright spent the first part of her marriage raising 6 children, and then went to work at Brooks School in North Andover as Assistant to the Dean, and then at Essex Agricultural School until she retired in 1992, when she and her husband moved to Sarasota, Florida. Mrs. Wright volunteered at the Sarasota Public Library for 13 years while in Florida. Soon after her husband’s death in 2005, Mrs. Wright moved to Denver, Colorado with her daughters.
Mrs. Wright is survived by her sons Timothy W. and his wife Janis of Andover, MA, and John T. of Portsmouth, NH, and her daughters Ann and her husband David Baer of Denver CO, and Tricia and her partner Sonia Bauduy of Denver, CO. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren-Lisa, Erica, Rachael, and Macayla.
There will be a funeral mass at St Joseph’s Church, 20 Highvale Lane, Andover (Ballardvale) on Friday, October 24 at 11AM.
