Obituary


WESTMINSTER, MARYLAND - Robert Louis Roy, 84, of High Acre Drive, Westminster, Maryland, formerly of 92 Emerald Drive, Laconia, New Hampshire, Passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Maryland.

Born on February 25, 1930 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the son of Gustave and Josephine (Audet) Roy and brother to seven siblings. Predeceased by his wife, Mary A. Roy in 2007, he is survived by his sister, Pauline Wheeler of Hermitage, Tennessee, - his son, Brian Roy of Raleigh, North Carolina, and four daughters: Margaret Roy of Menlo Park, California, Noreen Cleary and Catherine Roy of Westminster, Maryland, and Jennifer Roy of San Diego, California. Also survived by 3 grandchildren Brandon Cleary, Ian Cleary, Cameron Roy, and many nephews and nieces.

Robert served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the National Security Agency following 30 years of service. In his retirement, Robert volunteered for many years at the Wright Museum in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire educating visitors about the home front during World War II.

Calling hours will be held from 11AM to 1PM on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, New Hampshire using the Carriage House entrance. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:30PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, New Hampshire.
