Virginia Patton Hernandez, 70, of Tifton died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held for Ms. Hernandez from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 5536 Union Road in Tifton. Ms. Hernandez will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Hernandez was born on May 19, 1944 in Camilla and was the daughter of Earl Charlie Patton and Fannie Beatrice Jordan Patton, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Ms. Hernandez is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Derek Hernandez and James Earl and Merita Sullivan, both of Tifton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Amanda Hernandez of Tifton, Felicia and James Self of Tifton and Cristi Hernandez of Fitzgerald; one sister, Martha Brooks of Enigma; eight grandchildren, Dallas Hernandez, Luis Tellez, Marisol Tellez, Alicia Tellez, Kennise Wilcox, Kyra Wilcox, Jasmine Self and James Clinton Sullivan; and one great-grandson, Evan James Sullivan.
