Obituary

LEICESTER: Raymond M. LaHair, Sr., 88, of 224 Main Street in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester died Friday, Oct. 17 in his daughter’s home in North Brookfield after an illness.

His wife of 61 years; Barbara A. (Gaffney) LaHair died in 2012. He leaves a son; Raymond M. LaHair, Jr. and his wife Julie of Maynard, two daughters; Linda A. Lauder and her husband Richard of North Brookfield and Donna M. Tebo and her husband Ronald of Rochdale, two brothers; Fred LaHair and his wife Barbara of Charlton and Howard LaHair and his wife Marillee of Worcester, a sister; Ruth Gaffney and her husband and Raymond’s “Best Buddy” Robert of Auburn, six grandchildren; Richard A. Lauder, Tammy Tebo-Williams and her husband Brian, Kelly Gratton and her husband Robert, Matthew Tebo and his wife Colleen, Brian LaHair and Alex LaHair, seven great-grandchildren; Elizabeth, Emma, Tyler, Adam, Jayke, Dylan & Mitchell and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by four brothers; Arthur, Norman, John and Paul LaHair and three sisters; Phoebe Comeau, Matilda Giedymin and Hazel Foster.

Raymond was born in Leicester, son of Arthur and Ruth (Allen) LaHair. He was a truck driver for many years at Chas. Gilman Co. retiring in 1988. He served his country during WW II in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170 for over 30 years. He enjoyed New England Sports teams and spending time with his family.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 11:00 AM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 20 from 5:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
