Obituary

Cynthia A. O’Leary, 80, of Rochdale died Friday, October 17th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus after a short illness. Her husband of 48 years, James D. O’Leary died in 2005. She leaves two sons, Thomas J. O’Leary of Misato City, Japan and Captain James D. O’Leary, Jr., USN and his wife, Denise Severino of Tokyo, Japan; a daughter, Mary-Beth O’Leary, DVM and her husband, Brian Conefrey of Rochdale; three grandchildren, Aislinn, Bridget and Tessa O’Leary. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Elizabeth O’Leary; a brother, Richard Dmochowski; two sisters, Marion Turney and Anne Dmochowski; and a nephew, Richard Turney.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of John and Stella (Maszkowski) Dmochowski and graduated from St. Peter's High School and Assumption College. Cynthia was a member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church and enjoyed gardening. She was a nurse for over 30 years retiring from Harrington Hospital and previously worked for Holy Cross College, Heald Machine Company and American Optical.
Her funeral is Monday, October 20th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius-St. Jude, 489 Pleasant Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, October 20th from 8:30 until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
