Obituary

HAMPDEN – Joseph R. “JoJo” Gorecki, Jr., 19, of Hampden, was Called Safely Home on Monday, October 13, 2014. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Springfield on April 7, 1995, a beloved son of Joseph T. and Andrea M. (Kuselias) Gorecki, both of Hampden. He was raised in Hampden, graduated in 2013 from Minnechaug Regional High School in Wilbraham and was a lifelong resident of Hampden. While in high school, he was an outstanding athlete who excelled in lacrosse and basketball and always played with heart and determination. Joe was always ready to listen or help his family and many friends and had a heart of gold. He was the co-owner with his dad, Joe, of Gorecki & Sons, LLC in Hampden. He was a communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield. He was a very special young man who loved everyone unconditionally. Besides his parents, he leaves his loving sisters and brother, Alyssa Brodeur and her husband, Matthew, of Wilbraham, Mia Gorecki of Atlanta, GA, and Samuel Gorecki of Hampden; his loving maternal grandparents, Raymond and Maria Kuselias of Wilbraham; his cherished nieces, Ellianna and Briella Brodeur; his cherished uncles and aunts, Jeff and Ingrid Kuselias, Christian and Paula Kuselias, Peter and Christina Kuselias, Bill and Carla Provost, Sal and Renee Gorecki, Cynthia Dimauro, Kris and Julia Hatcher, Jean Gorecki, John Gorecki and Thomas Gorecki; his girlfriend, Mychelle Flack; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the Gorecki and Kuselias families. He was predeceased by his loving paternal grandparents, Joseph and Jean Gorecki. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. His burial will be private at the convenience of his family. A special fund has been established in memory of Joseph for the purpose of providing academic scholarships to students. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Joseph Gorecki, Jr. Scholarship Fund by either cash or check at any TD Bank location or by mailing a payment to TD Bank, N.A., 243 Triangle Street, Amherst, MA 01002 (413-549-5112).
