Albert Trapper Kratt, Jr. “Al”, 82, of Greenville, RI passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Miriam Hospital in Providence, He was the husband of Joyce (Johnson) Kratt.
He was born in Kearny, NJ , son of the late Albert and Margaret Kratt. He was employed as a US Postal Inspector in Providence for 35 years before his retirement in December 1987. Albert served in the US Air Force, stationed in Korea from 1952-56.
He was an avid NY Yankees fan and baseball enthusiast playing semi-professional baseball in New Jersey.
Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter: Kathy Messier of Walllingford, CT; son-in-law Alan Messier; daughter Robin Shields of Wakefield; son-in-law William Shields; a son A. Trapper Kratt III of Douglas, MA; daughter-in-law Michelle; eight grandchildren, two great granddaughters, three brothers, Robert, Stephen and Irving Kratt all of Parsippany, NJ. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Westura.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to
