Obituary

Robert Allen Lamb, 67, of Ledyard died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home. He is survived by his wife, MaryAnne Ailes Lamb of Ledyard.

He was a graduate of Norwich Tech High School in the electrical shop and served in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He started Lamb's Electrical Service and was active in farming and a member of the CT Farm Bureau. He retired in 2002 from the State of Connecticut after 34 years of service. He was the Director of Facilities at the Seaside Regional Center in Waterford. Upon his retirement he returned to his lifelong passion for farming at The Rocky Hill Farm as a 10th generation farmer. He was elected to the Ledyard Town Council, serving for 3 terms. Bob enjoyed the family cabin in Maine, spending time with his family and friends, restoring old Farmall tractors, snowmobiling, watching NASCAR races and was involved in town affairs. He also enjoyed his weekly breakfast get togethers at local restaurants with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Michael Lamb and his partner Tammi Darby of Ledyard and children Destiny Fulton, Troy Darby, Eric Darby and one grandchild Paige Fulton, his daughter Melissia Holland and her husband Russell of Preston and grandchildren Robert John Holland, Cynthia Holland and Justin Holland. Four siblings, Helen Bliven and Earl Lamb Jr. both of Ledyard, Marion Singer of Groton and Amy Richards of Mystic. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Earl and Doris (Perkins) Lamb of Ledyard

Bob’s family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, October 19, from 3 to 7pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Graveside Service will be conducted on Monday at 10:30am in Lambtown Cemetery, Lambtown Road, Ledyard.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Future Farmers of America (FFA), the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
