Larry Donald Register, 62, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, October 10, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, October 13, 2014, at Liberty Emmanuel Holiness Church of Jesus Christ with the Rev. Wilburn Wiley and the Rev. Silas Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the Register Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 400 Rhine Road, on Sunday, October 12, 2014. The body will lie in repose at the residence until 1 PM on Monday.
Mr. Register was born April 27, 1952, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Ola Murray Register and the late J.W. Register. He was a truck driver and pulled mobile homes for over 23 years. Mr. Register loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. A former resident of Tifton & Douglas, he was known by the CB handle “Rocky Top”. He could tell a good story and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a member of Liberty Emmanuel Holiness Church of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Shirley Register of Fitzgerald; two sons: Christopher Donald Register and his wife Donna of Ambrose and Larry Daniel “Bug” Register of Ambrose; a daughter: Crystal Dawn “Pudden” Register of Fitzgerald; his grandchildren: Kristina Ashton “Sissy” Wilson and her husband Carl and Haley Brooke Register & Josh Burnam, all of Nichols, Victoria Phabian Register & Andrew Harper of Ambrose, Jonathan Mathew Davis and Jeremy Clinton “Shortlegs” Davis, both of Fitzgerald, Danielle Jean Register and Larry Daniel Register, Jr., both of Douglas; two brothers: David W. Register and his wife Patricia and Jimmy Register and his wife Kathy, all of Fitzgerald; three sisters: Joyce R. Pfeifle, Mary Lou R. Biggs, and Julia Ann R. Ray and her husband Earl, all of Fitzgerald. He will also be greatly missed by his faithful companion, Cadie. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother: Roger Wayne Register.
