Belmida (Ferreira) Lopes Amaral. Age 91. Wife of the late Joseph J. Amaral and the late Manuel J. Lopes. Residence 400 Narragansett Parkway, Warwick, RI, formerly of 98 Horizon Dr., Tiverton, RI. Died Thursday at Kent County Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born in Fall River, MA. Daughter of the late Manuel Ferreira and the late Justina (Souza) Ferreira. She was a Warwick resident for 6 years, she also lived in Tiverton for many years and in Fall River. She was an Avid Red Sox Fan. Before retiring at age 56, she was a Double-Needle Operator at Arkay Pants Company. She was a former member of St. Michael Church, Essex St., Fall River, MA.
She is survived by: One Son: David H. Lopes of Cranston,R.I., Past President of Espirito Santo Credit Union, Fall River. One Step-Son: Edward Amaral of Westport, MA. One Daughter: Regina J. Bieg of Fall River, MA. Seven Grandchildren: Cheryl L. Brown, Robin Smith, Scott Bieg, Nancy Zazzera, David H. Grizwald, Barbara J. Castellone, and Denis D. Lopes. Fourteen Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Silvino “Lefty” Medeiros, Manuel Ferreira, Grace Mello, and Mary Roias.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. on Monday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Michael Church, Essex St., Fall River, Ma. at 10:00A.M. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours Sunday December 5, 3-7 P.M.
