Obituary

Arthur "Butch" Leo Desjardins, 67, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family.


Born in Lawrence, Arthur was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a 1965 graduate of Lawrence High School. He had served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war. Arthur had worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Lawrence D.P.W. for some 37 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and flying remote control helicopters as well as scuba diving. Arthur also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas.

The son of the late Leo Alfred and Catherine (Bennett) Desjardins, members of Arthur's family include his wife of 44 years Linda (Boudreau) Desjardins, three children: Kirk Desjardins and his wife Rebecca of Lawrence, MA, Staci Dube and her husband Harold of Lebanon, ME, and Jamie Desjardins and his wife Sara of Lawrence, MA. He is also survived by a sister Joni Desjardins and her husband Brian of Arizona, a brother Michael Desjardins of Derry, NH, 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill St., Lawrence, MA.
