RAYNHAM – Eduardo L. Arruda, husband of Aurelia (Barbosa) Arruda of Raynham, died at Morton Hospital on Oct. 10, 2014.
He was 70 years old.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Virginio and Etelvina (Raposo) Arruda.
He was a longtime resident of this area.
A retired construction worker, Mr. Arruda was a member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America Local 876.
He retired 8 years ago.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, he enjoyed making wine, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Steve Arruda of Raynham; a daughter, Linda Ribeiro and her husband Paul of Raynham; three brothers, Nelson and Antonio Arruda, both of Canada and Manuel Arruda of Dighton; 3 sisters, Hilda Medeiros of New Bedford, Natalia da Silva of Taunton and Alcina Amorim of Raynham; three grandchildren, Destinee, Logan and Payton Ribeiro; three dogs, Diesel, Summer and Axel; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Gilbert Arruda.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Oct. 13th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
