Mrs. Georgia Inez Bowen Achord, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 8, 2014.
Inez was born in Jacksonville, GA on July 13, 1942, the daughter of Tom & Addie Bowen. Graduating in 1961 from Fitzgerald High School in Fitzgerald, GA and has lived in the Jacksonville area since 1971. Inez retired in 2007, with more than 30 years, as a bookkeeper with the Jacksonville Jewish Center. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Mackenzie.
Survivors include her daughter, Jewel (Gary) McCance; 3 grandchildren: Shayne, Andrew & Mackenzie McCance; 3 sisters: Lavern Beck, Loraine (Bud) Hurt and Gail (Sammy) Howell; 1 brother: Johnny Bowen and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Oceanway Assembly of God with Rev. Danny Baggett & Rev. Ken Barney, officating.
Additional Services and Burial will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, GA. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday (TODAY) at Oceanway Assembly of God.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Oceanway Assembly of God or Community Hospice. Peeples Family Funeral Homes is serving the Achord Family.
