Daniel D. Fonzi passed away at the Wilmington Health Care Center on October 7, 2014. He was 88 years old.
Dan was born in Italy and was a longtime resident of Everett and Wilmington. He owned and operated Fonzi Construction Company for many years and was a former officer of the Sons of Italy in Everett.
Dan was the beloved husband of 59 years to Margaret (Grindle) Fonzi. He was the loving father of Judy Sheehan and her husband Dennis of NH, Daniel “Butch” Fonzi of Wilmington and Kenneth Fonzi and his wife Diane of Lowell. Dan was the dear brother of Olga Anzuoni and her husband Nick, Riccardo Fonzi and his wife Marie, and the late William Fonzi, Lillian Cacciatore and her late husband Carmine. He was the dear brother-in-law of Columbia Fonzi. Dan was the cherished grandfather of Erin Sheehan and her fiancé Joseph Robbins, Michelle Fonzi-Rozopoulos and her husband George, Daniel, Meagan, Andrew, Kenneth and Candace Fonzi. He was the great-grandfather of Alki and Khloe Rozopoulos. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Saturday, October 11th at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 38 Oakes Street, Everett at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday, October 10th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
