AGAWAM – Lillian M. (Caplette) Albano, 97, of Quail Run in Agawam, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at her daughter Gail’s home in East Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on August 15, 1917, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Valida (LaBrie) Caplette. She was raised in Springfield, attended the High School of Commerce and lived in Springfield until 1995 when she moved to Agawam. She was previously employed during World War II at the former American Bosch in Springfield. She later worked at Buxton in Agawam, Diamond Match in Springfield and in the cafeteria at Cathedral High School. She was an active woman who had many interests in life. She enjoyed trips to the casinos, bingo and was known as a “card shark” who was always ready for a good game with her many friends and family. She also enjoyed travel, fashion, current events and her many friends at the Agawam Senior Center. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a communicant of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Agawam. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Alfonso J. Albano who was Called Home on March 23, 1995. They were married on February 12, 1938 at the former Saint Joseph Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Lynn A. Bayeur and her husband, Ronald, of Enfield, CT, Gail M. Hebert and her fiancé, Dr. Carl Reiner, of East Longmeadow, and Brian J. Albano of Springfield; her former daughter-in-law, Maureen Albano of Ludlow; her four cherished grandchildren, Sheree Bayeur, Jeffrey Hebert and his wife, Anne, Michelle Connors and her husband, Christopher, and Nicole Albano; her two cherished great-granddaughters, Chloe Hebert and Madelyn Connors; her brother, Joseph Caplette of St. Petersburg, FL; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her burial will be private for her family at a later date at Saint Michael Cemetery, Springfield.
