Obituary

CHICOPEE - Viola M. (Richter)Frechette, 82, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, October 6, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at Willimansett Center West in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on June 25, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late Edward and Jennie (Whitford) Richter. She was raised and attended schools in Holyoke and had lived there for many years before moving to Fairview in 1984. She was employed as a machine operator at National Blank Book in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. A member of the Chicopee Council on Aging Senior Center , she enjoyed her many visits there. She enjoyed making crafts, especially her many beautiful needlework crafts. She also could be found enjoying many local bingo games. Above all, she showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two loving brothers, Edward Richter and John Richter; her two loving sisters, Beatrice Derosier and Clematis Flynn; and her loving brother-in-law, Wilfred A. “Wolfie” Genereux who was Called Home on March 25, 2006. She leaves her beloved sister, Alberta J. “Micki” Genereux of Chicopee; her many cherished nephews and nieces including her dear nephew with whom she lived, Bruce Flynn; and her dear niece, Kathie Genereux and her partner, Robbie Blanchard, of Waterbury, VT; her many cousins including her special cousins who did so much and were always there for her, Tony and Barbara Brin of South Hadley; her many dear extended family members of the Richter family; and her many friends including her dear friends, Donna and Mark Ruell of Chicopee who also did so much for her. Family and friends are invited to attend a Service of Committal on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Jerome Cemetery, 1666 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
