Theresa Gertrude (McCormack) Bourque passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 6, 2014.
She was born in Lawrence, MA to Daniel J. and Gertrude L. (Hayes) McCormack on July 4, 1927.
Theresa attended the Lawrence Public schools and graduated from both Lawrence High and McIntosh Business Schools. She retired from Lawrence General Hospital in 2010 after twenty-five years of service. She had previously served as a teachers’ aide in the Lawrence Public School System for many years and had also worked at Bolta, Co. She was an active member and communicant of St. Patrick’s Parish, a member of the St. Patrick’s Ladies Sodality and spent several years assisting with the St. Patrick’s Pre Cana Conferences.
She was the loving wife of 60 years to the late Joseph L. Bourque, Sr. and the proud mother of 10 children, Joseph and Diane of Ipswich, Kathleen O’Keefe of Lawrence, Daniel and Judy of Reading, Ann Marie Bourque and Anne Pritchard of Sandown, NH., Martin and Alda of Londonderry, NH., Mary and David Desrosiers of Lawrence, Michael and Jo-Anne of Wakefield, Barbara and Michael Beauchesne of Lawrence, Timothy and Susan of Plaistow, NH and Christopher and Silvania of Plaistow, NH. Theresa also leaves behind her “sister” in life and friend for 80 years, Eleanor Sheehan.
Theresa’s love of family continues on through her 31 grandchildren who were the joy of her life and with whom she shared her knowledge and love. She was also the great grandmother of 9.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Ryan M. Bourque, and her sisters-in-law, Claire Lynch and Eleanor Campbell.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of Mary Immaculate Nursing Home for the love, care and concern shown to Theresa and to her entire family during her stay there.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 10th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover, MA.
