WORCESTER - Alden F. Mitchell Sr., 90, of 42 Dallas Street died Friday March 29 at home after a short illness.
He leaves his wife Stella (Dziewiacien) Mitchell of Worcester; a son Alden F. Mitchell Jr. of Holden; two daughters Cynthia B. Couture of Hartford, CT and Stephanie J. Roy of Paxton; a brother Frederick Mitchell of Worcester; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Mitchell was born in Worcester son of George and Ellen (Nuthall) Mitchell and lived here all his life.
Mr. Mitchell worked for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority as a bus driver for 22 years retiring in 1977.
He was a member of St. John's Church and the Local 22 Amalgamated Transit Union.
The funeral will be held on Monday April 1 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.ROYFUNERAL.com) 12 Hammond Street with a mass at 11 AM in St. John's Church. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Sunday March 31 from 6 to 8 PM in the Funeral Home.
