Edwin M. Ake
June 7, 1924 - Oct. 5, 2014

Edwin M. Ake, Jr., 90, of Anderson died October 5, 2014 at Countryside Manor after an extended illness.

He served in the US Army in the Twelve Hundred Fifty-First Combat Engineers in WW II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a plumber for Guide Lamp division of General Motors.

He is survived by his five children, Mark (Kathy) Ake; Cheryl (Rick) Porter; Daniel (Connie) Ake; Jeffery (Sally) Ake; Kimberly Weightman; brother, Alvin Ake; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hart; five grandchildren, Ross, Christine, Mark, Ellen and Brittany; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Hart) Ake; daughter, Kathleen Ake; sister, Elma Keever and his brother, Phil Ake.

Private services will take place with Rev. Gary Klinger of First Church of the Nazarene officiating with burial in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
