Robert William Fraser passed away in North Carolina on Friday September 26, 2014 after a long battle with Lung Cancer. He was 68 years old. Robert had resided in Hamlet, North Carolina for the past 8 years but was born and raised in Stoughton,Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife of 15 years Sherry Cragin. Other survivors include a foster- brother Frederick Gitchel of Maine and many friends.
Robert was a 1964 graduate of Stoughton High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and served his country honorably during the Vietnam Era. He was discharged in 1969 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Fraser was later employed by the Brookfield Engineering Company in Stoughton. He also attended Massasoit Community College in Brockton where he majored in Child Psychology. He then entered the real estate market as an office manager with the firm of Realty Search in Easton. Robert also worked for Paul’s Industrial Catering in Stoughton and eventually retired from the Lowe’s in Rockingham,N.C.
Robert enjoyed life to the fullest, together with his wife he spent many happy hours on his Harley and with his horses. He loved making people around him happy and always had a smile on his face. Spending time with his friends was one of the most important things to him. Robert will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 10, 2014 from 5 P.M. – 8 P.M. in the Sheehan-Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. His graveside funeral service with military honors will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 10 A.M. in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.The Pastor Rev. Mary L. Perry, officiating. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. NOTE: The funeral procession will be forming at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday morning for those who wish to take part in the procession. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of one’s choice in Robert’s memory, would be appreciated.
