Shelby Jane Hall Yawn, 78, of Tifton died Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Dan Robinson and Rev. Steve Hand officiating. Mrs. Yawn will be laid to rest at Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Eric Sizemore officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Robby Mullis, Chris Mullis, Eric Mullis, Luther Black, Glenn Faulk and James Akins will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Yawn was born on July 9, 1936 in Tift County and was the daughter of Robert Lee Hall and Vernice Onieda Davis Hall, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eston Yawn; one grandson, Elijah Benjamin Yawn; and one brother, Jimmie Lee Hall. She worked as a mender at J. P. Stevens and was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Yawn is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Nicole Yawn of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bridgette and Lon Asmussen and Lecial and Phill Beach, all of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tommy Mullis of Tifton; a sister-in-law and her husband, Carolyn and Jimmy Akins of Enigma; eight grandchildren, Sam and Mandy Beach, Rachel Yawn, Zoe Yawn, Molly Jane Yawn, Joseph Asmussen and Brea and Megan Yawn; three nieces and their husbands, Becky Moore, Lucy and Steve Hand and Michele and Michael Masterson; and three nephews and their wives, Robby and Fran Mullis, Chris and Joanne Mullis and James Akins.
