Mr. Jack Ray Farmer
Augusta – Mr. Jack Ray Farmer, 75, entered peacefully into rest, surrounded by his family, on Thursday evening, October 2, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, October 6, 2014 at West Acres Baptist Church with Brother Bob Rayner and Rev. Josh Heath officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Farmer was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology where he majored in Textile Chemistry. He was a textile executive with King Mill, before establishing his own real estate company. He ended his career as a Magistrate Judge in Columbia County. He was also a founding member of West Acres Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son; David Farmer, his daughter; Sarah Elizabeth Hersey (Nick), his two sisters; Frances Anderson (Hubert) and Pat Wilmot, as well as his grandchildren; Caleb, Autumn, Celestial, Jacob, Isabella and Jonathan Hersey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Vera Farmer, his brother, Bobby Farmer, and sisters, Vivian Chassereau and Elsie Huffman.
Pallbearers will be Mike Adams, Chris Leopard, Lance Fearneyhough, John Osborn, Jason Osborn and Tony Doyle
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
