William "Bill" Joseph Van Dyke, 67, of Tifton died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Edwin Frost officiating. Eulogies will be given by Mr. Van Dyke's friends. Mr. Van Dyke will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Monday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Van Dyke was born on Aug. 10, 1947 in Tazewell, Va. and was the son of William Blair Van Dyke and Louise Remines Van Dyke, both deceased. He was a retired car dealer and of the Baptist faith. He loved golf, fishing and baseball.
Mr. Van Dyke is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dutch and Jennifer Van Dyke of Funston and Dan Van Dyke of Tifton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dawn and Chris Stone of Loganville and Blair Van Dyke of Greer, S.C.; a sister, Laura Martin of Alabama; and four grandchildren, Shane and Alex Stone of Loganville and Emma and Will Van Dyke of Funston.
