Kathy Nesbitt Harvey, 52, of Fitzgerald, died Thursday, October 2, 2014, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the Fitzgerald Church of God with the Rev. Dewain Joiner and Minister Teressa McDuffie officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Harvey was born January 19, 1962, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Thomas Clarence Nesbitt and the late Betty Handley Nesbitt Griffin. She was a graduate of Turner County High School and earned an Associates’ Degree in Journalism from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She was a homemaker who loved to fish with her Mama. An avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, she loved to travel. She visited extensively throughout Europe and Asia and enjoyed visiting many wonders of the world, including Stonehenge.
She is survived by her son: Jaime Harvey of Athens; two brothers: Mike Nesbitt and Tony & Martha Handley, all of Fitzgerald; an aunt: Frances & Chip Shaddix of Fitzgerald; her step-father: Don Griffin of Fitzgerald; as well as several cousins including Chrissy Hayes of Fitzgerald.
