TEWKSBURY - Eric List, age 64, died Thursday morning, October 2, at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston after a brief courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Linda S. (Plagenza) List, with whom he had celebrated a 42nd wedding anniversary this past December 24th.
Eric was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire County, England, the only child of the late Eric and Betty (Harris) List. He completed his studies at Edlington School in Yorkshire, UK, and emigrated to the United States in 1973. He had lived in Tewksbury for the past 26 years.
He worked most of his career in the Information Technology Department at the New England Life insurance company in Boston, and stayed as the company was absorbed by Metropolitan Life. His career spanned thirty eight years there.
Eric was a Marathon Runner and among many notable races had participated in the running of the Boston Marathon six times during his lifetime. He was a British Football Fan, and was an active donor for the American Red Cross.
Eric and his family especially enjoyed time at their summer home on Newfound Lake in Bristol, N.H. and visits to his extended family in England. Eric also enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Tyler, age 7.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son Brian E. List and his wife Anee (Mew) of Oakland, CA; a daughter, Olivia S. Pizzano and her husband Tom of Salem, NH; a beloved grandson, Tyler Pizzano; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne and Dick Colello of Norwell, MA; and his extended family in England, UK.
Visiting hours Sunday, Oct. 5, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38), TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, Oct. 6, at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Following cremation, Eric will return to England.
