Ann Scott Attaway
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, October 1, 2014, Mrs. Ann Scott Attaway, 86, loving wife of 64 years to Robert T. (Bobby) Attaway.
Mrs. Attaway was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was born on January 1, 1928, the first child born in the New Year. She was the youngest of 15 children. She retired as a secretary from Southern Finance Co. and later from Westover Memorial Park. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Attaway loved to dance, read, and play cards.
Family members in addition to her husband include sons: Robert Thomas Attaway, Jr. (Sharon), Dr. Dean Scott Attaway (Tim), Mark Allen Attaway (Carol); daughter: Angela Deer Attaway; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor David Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Rob Attaway, Daniel Attaway, Chris Attaway, Justin Kamishlian and her nephews Bob Ballard, Jr., Lynwood Miller, Stephen Scott, and Lewis Smith.
