Stephen D. Skaggs
Nov. 20, 1952 - Sept. 30, 2014

Stephen D. Skaggs, 61, of Fishers, and formerly of Anderson peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on September 30 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a sudden illness.

Steve was born in Anderson to Marilyn J. (Bohne) Skaggs and Paul J. Skaggs. He graduated from Anderson High School, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Ball State University. Steve married Lisa Renner, also of Anderson, June 15, 1974, at Anderson's First United Methodist Church.

Steve was the Chairman of the Board of Perfecto Tool & Engineering Company, Inc., after retiring as President in 2013. Perfecto Tool & Engineering Company, Inc., was founded by his father in 1955, and is now in its third generation. Steve was an innovator; bringing custom automated assembly and test equipment to Perfecto's product line. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Wawasee; vacationing on Sanibel Island; cooking; reading; fishing; and most of all, being Papaw to his grandchildren and spending time with his family, many friends, and neighbors. He served the Madison County community through several organizations such as First United Methodist Church. He was professionally active with First Merchants Bank and the Indiana Manufacturer’s Association.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty years, Lisa Skaggs; his sons and their families: Andy, wife Marissa, and son Ezra of Pendleton and Adam, wife Lacey, and children Jersie, Jeston, and baby of Pendleton. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles: Janice and Dick Dean of Anderson; Barbara Jo and John White of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and Mary Schultz of Anderson; sister-in-law Linda and Dr. John Van Arsdall of Louisville; niece Catherine Van Arsdall of Louisville; and nephew Jack Van Arsdall of Cincinnati; as well as many cousins. Also surviving is Steve's four-legged friend, Lucy the Labradoodle. Steve will be missed by many friends, neighbors and colleagues, and remembered as a caring, generous and devoted friend.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, October 6, 2014 at Anderson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Goings and Terri Coe, Dir. of Adult Ministries of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis officiating. Entombment to follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
