In East Taunton, September 30, 2014 Irene A. Kelly, Age 89, passed away at home following a lengthy illness while surrounded by her loving family. Irene was the wife of the late Charles “Buddy” Kelly. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Maurice & Beatrice (Pilling) Gamache. Irene had resided with her daughter in East Taunton and was formerly of Washington St. in Taunton. Irene attended St. Mary’s primary schools and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1943. Irene will be remembered as a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed dining out with her family and cherished her time with them. Irene is survived by her children Carol Tapis and her husband Paul of East Taunton, Charles Kelly Jr. and his late wife Rebecca of Indiana and Peter J. Kelly and his wife Lee Ann of Lexington, MA. Irene leaves her sister Joyce Gamache Archer of Raynham and her late siblings Dorothy Whiting and Maureen Yaffe and is also survived by her brother in law Cornelius J. Kelly and sister in law Marguerite Kelly both of Taunton. Irene also leaves her ten loving grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Irene also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, Oct. 6th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church in Taunton at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 4-7 pm. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
