Obituary

METHUEN – Frank R. Greeley, 81 of Methuen, passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 26, 2014 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of Richard and Carolyn (Richardson) Greeley and was a graduate of Essex Agricultural High School in Danvers, MA. During the Korean Conflict, Frank served in the U.S. Air Force serving as the youngest air crew chief in the Alaskan Air Command. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged from service. For over 50 years he was employed as a foreman and engineer for C.E. Cyr Construction in Lawrence where he enjoyed his hard work and retired reluctantly.
Frank enjoyed his numerous trips to Ireland, Maine and Florida, exploring every side road from Maine to Florida. He was a hero to his family, a beloved friend who would drop everything to help a friend and neighbor and was known for his great sense of humor and generosity.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose Bartlett-Greeley of Methuen, MA. Frank also leaves his children, Frank Greeley, Jr. and his wife Christine of Methuen, Scott Greeley and his wife Shelley of Salem, NH, Kevin Greeley of North Andover, Deborah Maiorana and her husband Anthony of Casper, WY, and Brigid Mary Greeley and George Secchiaroli, III. of Amesbury, MA and Christopher R. Blaser of Methuen.
Frank is also survived by his brother Richard Greeley and his wife Joan; sisters, Carol Donovan, Margaret Gradzedicz, and her husband Andrew and Sharon Moerloos and Jack Bedrosian.
Grandchildren, Joseph Mastrangelo, Michael Greeley, Kyle Ludwig, Jennifer, Kimberly and Ashley Maiorana, Sean Greeley and Jillian and Michael Blaser. Frank will also be fondly remembered by his cousin Pamela Richardson and several friends, Ray and Ruth Bruce and Ron, Danny, Wendy and his beloved dog and companion Jack.
Frank was predeceased by his late wife Norma (Williams), his brothers, Patrick and Jay, and his grandson Kevin Coady.
Frank’s family would like to offer a special thank you to Mass General Hospital for his care and the staff at the Lawrence General Emergency Department. The family is also grateful for the support of friends and family.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00a.m. in the funeral home with military honors to follow outside in the court yard of the funeral home.
