Mrs. Shirley (Seifred) Lewis, of Dartmouth and formerly of Taunton, died Friday, September 26 in the Bedford Village Nursing Home, New Bedford following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard P. Lewis, Sr. She was born 77 years ago in Atlantic City, N.J., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Seifred. She was educated in New Jersey and had been a Taunton resident for many years. A homemaker, Shirley enjoyed dancing, antiques, gathering wild mushrooms, and, in her younger years, roller skating.
She leaves: 4 sons: George and John Shute, both of Texas, Daniel Lewis of Hyannis, and Richard P. Lewis, Jr. of Taunton; 2 daughters: Jane Ann Shute of Pa., and Denise Grealish of Taunton; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was also the sister of the late June Seifred and Roberta Sahl.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
