Kathleen A. Devlin, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at her home in Charlestown following a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. She was 59 years old.
Kathy was born in Somerville on July 13, 1955, a daughter of the late John M. Devlin and Mary R. (McGeoghegan) Devlin. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1973. She also attended Bunker Hill Community College where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Kathy has worked for over 30 years at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden as a Administrative Assistant. Kathy was devoted to her 2 brothers in her lifetime and as most people know of Kathy she was just a sweetheart of a girl.
Kathy is the devoted sister of Daniel P. Devlin and his wife Donna of Stoneham and John M. Devlin Jr. of Charlestown. She is the loving aunt to Denise Devlin and her husband Timothy Dacey of West Roxbury, Daniel Devlin and his wife Joyce of Malden, Dennis Devlin and Judy Centola of Charlestown and her grandnieces and grandnephew; Skylar, Kali and Patrick.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kathleen's Funeral on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 2 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
