Annie Rose Leine (Rosaline) Thompson Wynne, 93, of Wilson, North Carolina passed away on September 26, 2014. She was born on July 3, 1921 in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. to the late Allie Bennett Thompson and the late Annie Lillie Epps Thompson.
Rosaline married the late Joseph Graham Wynne, son of the late Joseph Harkam Wynne and the late Blanche Mae Pridgen Wynne, on October 21, 1939 in Emporia, VA. Rosaline and her husband spend most of their married life in the suburbs of Washington, DC, where she worked for the Federal Government.
Rosaline is survived by her children, Joseph Graham Wynne, Jr. and his wife, Judith Ann Palacky of Dunkirk, Maryland, Claudia Jean Wynne Wagner and her husband, George Lawrence Wagner of Wilson, NC, and Craig Allen Wynne and his wife Janet Lee Clark of Pasadena, Maryland. Rosaline is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
In her youth, Rosaline loved tennis and played the violin. She was a remarkable seamstress, loved to crochet, and spent many hours of her adult life studying her Bible.
Rosaline will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Patricia Darlene Wynne Webber and her great-granddaughter, Heather Anne Darlene Tucker, on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Drakes Branch, VA.
Rosaline requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Research Center, her favorite charity.
