Obituary

Charles "C.J." Hallisey, 21, of Pawcatuck died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. He was born on September 24, 1993 in New London, the son of Robin (Sonnenburg) Snelgrove and the late Charles Henry Hallisey Jr. He was a 2011 graduate of Stonington High School where he played varsity on the golf team from 2008 to 2011. C.J. loved playing golf with his "Nene and Pop".

C.J. enjoyed shooting hoops with his brother Tyler, shared many special moments with his sister, Michelle and passing a football around with his cousins, Mike, Matt and Dewey.
C.J. was known to be kind and considerate; who helped others. He enjoyed being with family and friends. His sense of humor and smile will remain in our hearts forever.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his sister, Michelle Hallisey, his brother Tyler Snelgrove, and sister Gina Hallisey of Rhode Island as well as his maternal grandparents, Frank and Marie Davison of Groton and paternal grandparents Charles and Joyce Hallisey Sr. of North Carolina. He is also survived by his aunt and godmother, Rebecca Renski of North Stonington and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by his grandfather Robert Sonnenburg.

C.J.'s family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday from 1 to 4pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00am. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery will be private for the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Gemma E. Moran Food Center, 374 Broad Street, New London CT 06320.
