Richard Joel Fadely, 83, of Anderson died at Community Hospital September 24, 2014 after an extended illness.
He was born August 16, 1931 in Anderson to Theodore and Verna (Moore) Fadely.
He graduated from Anderson High School in 1951 and was a former member of the Elks Lodge 209.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He worked assembly at Delco Remy Division of General Motors for 31 years before retiring in 1982.
He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nelda (Williams) Fadely of Anderson whom he married January 8, 1956 in Anderson; daughter, Kim (Doug) Bellar of Alexandria; son Randall Fadely of Anderson, IN; two grandchildren, Courtney (Chris) Kostka of Indianapolis and Adam Bellar of Atlanta, GA; three great grandchildren, Micah, Noah and Hannah Kostka.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jay Fadely and brother, Ted Fadely, Jr.
Service will be noon on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Mark Helm officiating with burial in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to noon at the funeral home.
