Andrew “Andy” Wayne Griffin, 50, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Monday, September 22, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Riverbend Baptist Church in Irwin County, with the Rev. Steve Pickern and the Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverbend Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Griffin was born March 15, 1964, in Ocilla, Georgia to Herman Wayne and Ethel Grace Steverson Griffin. He lived in the community all of his life. He was a former employee of Ross of Georgia as an asphalt layer and he enjoyed farming. He also worked for Felton Woods at the sawmill. He enjoyed fishing and riding four wheelers. Mr. Griffin was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Teresa Barfield Griffin of Ocilla; daughters: Shelby Griffin and Clair Jordan, both of Ocilla; son: Michael Fuhrman also of Ocilla; grandchildren: Skylar & Serenity Fuhrman; brothers: Justin Griffin of Quitman, Jeffrey Griffin of Reno Nevada; sisters: Cindy G. Swearingen & Lance of Fitzgerald, Sandra Griffin of Ocilla and Julie Griffin of Ocilla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
