John Ira Lee, 78, of Ledyard died on Monday, September 22, 2014 at his home surrounded by his niece, Patty and friend, Leonard. He was born on August 12, 1936 in Groton, the son of Earl James Lee and Sarah Frances (Cooper) Lee.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at Foxwoods Resort Casino for 15 years.
He had two sisters Dorothy Potter and Alice Fantachi and three brothers Earl (Jim), William and Walter Lee, who all predecease him.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Megan and the entire Hospice staff for taking good care of John.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, September 26, from 10:00 and 11:00am at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. Burial with full military honors will follow at 11:30am in Elm Grove Cemetery.
