Eileen (Sis) M. Ela, 82, of Wolfeboro passed away peacefully on September 21, 2014 at Forestview Manor, Meredith, NH. Sis was the daughter of Kenneth(Clarkie) and Helen Clark of Derry, NH. She was born on January 22, 1932 and raised in Derry, graduating from Pinkerton Academy in 1950. She married Bill Ela in 1950 and lived in East Derry until moving to Wolfeboro in 1962 when they purchased Kingswood Acres Cottages and Motel and ran that business until 2008. Sis worked in the kitchen at Carpenter School in Wolfeboro for more than 30 years and loved being around the children.
Sis is survived by her three daughters, Connie Morneau and her husband Bob, Janice Cann and her husband Bob, both of Wolfeboro and Bonnie Leavitt and husband, Greg of Coupeville, WA. She is also survived by one son, William Brian Ela, (Cindy) of Tuftonboro. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Price and husband Eddie, of Derry. Sis also has six grandchildren, Eric Roy and wife, Jennifer, Johnathan Cann, Crystal Cann Abitino, and husband Anthony, Daniel, Nathaniel and wife Leann, and Jason Leavitt, as well as seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Sis is also going to be missed by her “Kingswood Acres” family as well as her friends at Forestview Manor. Sis was predeceased by her husband, William Ela, and her brother Douglas Clark.
As Sis requested, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry was held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 25, 2014. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
