HOLLIS- Alice M. Whitehouse, age 79, passed away on July 19, 2014, with her children by her side, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
She was born in Hollis on Oct. 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Cecil and Beatrice (Weeman) Benson.
Alice is a Hollis High School graduate. For many years, she worked for Sylvania in the production department.
She loved to knit beautiful sweaters, read books, and watch her daytime soap opera. She will be sadly missed by all and will always be remembered for her love of family. Spending time with family and friends is what she cherished most.
She is predeceased by her husband- Merton Whitehouse.
Alice is survived by her children- Douglas Whitehouse and his wife Cathy of Hollis, Joyce O'Donnell and her husband Jim of Buxton, and Wayne Whitehouse and his wife Patti of Limington; sisters- Verna Dow, Marion Roberts, Maxine Whitehouse,and Tootsie Johnson; brother- Bill Benson, grandchildren- Sonya, James, Toni, Brian and Kyle; and great grandchildren- Jack and Hailey Gorman.
A graveside service will be held this Wednesday, July 23, at 2 PM at Meeting House Hill Cemetery, Rt. 35 in Hollis. Pastor Ron Sargent will officiate.
