Donna Rae Turner, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ben Hill County with the Rev. Steve Hand officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Turner was born April 16, 1935, in Topeka, Kansas, to the late Cecil and Ella E. Yager Dye. She had lived in the community since 1999. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing. Mrs. Turner was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years: Ira “Buddy” Turner of Fitzgerald; her children: Daniel Rook, St. Petersburg, Florida, Michael & Sue Rook of St. Petersburg, Florida, Robert & Lynn Gauger of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Catherine W. & Jim Doak of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rick & Sue West of Valdosta, Rebecca W. & Jeff Culp of Tallahassee, Florida, Amy W. Evans of Lake Park, Georgia and Loretta W. & Mike King of Mechanicsville, Maryland
