Obituary

Raymond J. “Pete” Lanctot, Sr., 68, of Sun Valley Dr., Cumberland died Sunday evening at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Suzanne F. Lariviere. They were married on September 19, 2004.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Louis and Clarinda (Gagnon) Lanctot. He was raised in Albion and resided in Cumberland for over 25 years. During his life Pete also lived in Bellingham, Woonsocket, Pawtucket and New Orleans.
Mr. Lanctot was a U. S. Navy veteran.
Pete was employed as a professional truck driver for a number of firms most recently Consolidated Freightways prior to retiring.
Pete was a member of the Woonsocket B.P.O.E. Lodge # 850, the Enrico Caruso Club, Albion Social Club, and American Legion Alphonse Yelle Post #9 in Manville. He was an avid horseshoe player.
Pete will be remembered for his friendly demeanor, infectious laugh and a smile that could put everyone at ease.
In addition to his wife Pete is survived by four sons Raymond J. Lanctot, Jr. of Chicopee, MA, Kevin Chandler (Rachel) of Lincoln, CA, Patrick Lanctot (Cynthia) of Thompson, CT, and Timothy Lanctot (Tammy) of Sterling CT, and a daughter Renee Lanctot (Raymond Arel) of Woonsocket. He was the brother of Edouard, Frank, Joseph, and Aldor Lanctot, Louise Holubesko, Doris Marchand, Claire Creighton, and the late Romeo Lanctot (late Lincoln Chief of Police), Lucien and Leon Lanctot. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren (with another due soon) and a great-grandson (with another due soon) and many nieces and nephews and their families.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, School St. Albion. Committal service with Military Honors will follow in St. Ambrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association 1 State St. #200 Providence, RI. 02908.
