Richard T. Teves, age 88, passed away peacefully September 16, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late John and Gloria (Soares) Teves. He graduated from Durfee High School. Richard was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and served in WWII.
Richard was patient, talented and quick-witted. He enjoyed spending time with his children, meeting new people, camping, golfing, repairing cars, dining out and watching sports. He was a member of the Fall River Elks Lodge #118 and Fraternal Order of Masons, King Philips Lodge.
Richard was employed by New England Telephone and Telegraph working his way from a lineman to supervisor. He retired after 38 years of service. He served on the Board Of Directors at the Southern Massachusetts Telephone Workers Credit Union.
A hard-working and dedicated family man, Richard was the proud father of four and leaves behind; Richard E. Teves (wife Kimberly) of Marion, Vivian Margaletta (husband Michael) of Somerset, Jeanne-Marie Teves (husband Tom Isenbergh) of Warwick, RI. and Irma Teves of Assonet, as well as his 3 grandchildren; Samantha Teves, Steven Margaletta and Derrick Margaletta. He was predeceased by his siblings; Dorethea Faria, Raul Teves, Ernest Teves, and Ruth Perry. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and grand nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on FRIDAY here at 7:30 A.M. followed by a Catholic Mass celebrated at St. Bernard’s in Assonet at 9 A.M. Cremation to follow. Calling hours on THURSDAY from 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
