METHUEN – Eugene W. Kennedy, 73 of Methuen passed away Sunday September 14, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Kittery, Maine, he was the son of George and Pearl (Trott) Kennedy. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Eugene worked for Yankee Bargain and also worked as a custodian at Holy Trinity in Lawrence. He was a member of the Julian Stopyra Post P.A.V. and the Dewey Club in Methuen.
Eugene is survived by his wife Peggy (Torla) Kennedy of Methuen; sons, Robert Kennedy and his fiancé Sherie Schuettner of North Andover and John Kennedy and his wife Melissa also of Methuen. Eugene also leaves his sister, Sandra Kennedy of Maine.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack St. BLDG 9 Lawrence, MA 01843. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
