Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Jennie (Strescino) Noble, 95, died Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. She was the wife of the late Charles Henry Noble, Jr. who died in 1997.
Born in Gloucester on July 10, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Lucia Strescino. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and had attended Gloucester public schools.
Jennie, along with her husband, had owned and operated the successful Liberty Market. She was an award-winning gardener, an avid reader, an extraordinary cook, and a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. Jennie will be fondly remembered as an independent and generous woman who deeply loved her family and the City of Gloucester.
She is survived by her brother William Strescino, her sister Lucia McClaughlin, three grandchildren, Charles Noble IV of Knoxville TN, Mark Noble of West Springfield and Kristen Noble of Orlando FL, and four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Gigi, Charlie and Trevor, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her husband, Charles Noble Jr. and her son, Charles Noble III, as well as her brothers Enrico Strescino, Joseph Strescino, Peter Strescino, Gildo Strescino, Robert Strescino, Richard Strescino and Eraldo Strescino.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday in Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Ave. (Rt. 133), Gloucester at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
