FREMONT - Mary E. "Betty" (Lynch) Valentine passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Bedford Hills Center in Bedford, N.H., after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 62.
She was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Nora ("Celia" McLarnon) Lynch of Tyngsborough, Mass. She spent most of her career working as an estimator for printing companies, most recently RAM Printing in Hampstead, N.H. She was recently retired from Ashby Cross Co. in Newburyport, Mass., where she was a receptionist for several years.
She had many and varied passions, but none greater than her love of quilting. She was a member of the Amoskeag Quilters' Guild, where she formed many lasting friendships. She stitched many intricate and beautiful quilts and delighted in teaching to craft to others.
She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, James R. Valentine, in 2011. She is survived by her sister, Noreen Lynch-Morris; two nieces, Eileen Lingley and her husband, David, and Chris Morris and her husband, Hans; a nephew, Tim Morris; a stepdaughter, Carol J. Thurston; stepsons, James E. Valentine and Robert P. Valentine and his wife Terri; sister-in-law Jean A. Valentine; and brother-in-law, Dr. George E. Valentine and his wife Nilda Tavares.
Calling hours were held on Wednesdsay, Sept. 17, from 5:00-7:00pm at Peabody Funeral Home at 290 Mammoth Road in Londonderry, N.H. A memorial ceremony followed at 7:00pm. A private interment will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date.
