Estelle L. (Smith) Kimtis a longtime resident of Stoughton,Massachusetts passed away peacefully in Dennis,Massachusetts on Tuesday September 9, 2014 with her two loving daughters by her side. She was 91 years old and the beloved wife of the late Charles J. Kimtis to whom she was married to for 69 ½ years.
Her survivors include her two daughters, Donna Good and her husband John of West Yarmouth, Cyndie Noe of South Dennis, her sisters, Ellen Hegarty of Wellesley, MA, Jean Ferris of Houston,TX, her 8 grandchildren, Dan, Hilary, Suzanne, Kristi, Allyson, Keith, Erica, Shannon, her honorary grandchild Diane, her 16 great-grandchildren as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Estelle was born on December 28, 1922 in Natick,Massachusetts. She was a daughter of the late Eugene and Estelle (Contois) Smith, a mother to the late Charles J. Kimtis Jr. and a sister to the late Francis Smith. She grew up in Needham, Massachusetts and graduated from Needham High School. She then married Charlie in 1943 and they settled in Stoughton,Massachusetts where they were able to raised their three children. Mrs. Kimtis was a homemaker as well as an excellent seamstress. Estelle was also a dedicated volunteer and former member of the Stoughton Women’s Guild. Her hobbies included bowling, dancing, skating and travelling with friends. She also loved making crafts with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
For all the roles Estelle was known for she will be forever remembered as MUM, GRAM,GREAT GRAM,and SIS. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
At the family’s request, all funeral services and interment will be private.
