Obituary

Susie, beloved by so many, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2014. Born in West Orange, New Jersey on May 27, 1953, Susie was the daughter of the late Len and Judy Howard, and sister to the late Chuck Howard. Susie grew up in New Jersey, later moving to New York City, Arizona, and St. John before eventually ending up on Cape Cod in 1986, where she spent the rest of her days.
She had many talents including being an artist, illustrator, graphic designer, poet and writer, neat freak, cook, destroyer of all white laundry, best bedtime storyteller ever, a woman who would feed any extra friends showing up at dinner time, but where she excelled was being a mother and grandmother.
She also owned and ran Byte Size Graphics and Grandmother's Attic Bookstore and worked at The Hot Chocolate Sparrow. Fish kites from art classes Susie would teach at the bookstore are most likely still flying around somewhere happily.
Susie became friends to many through out the years, with friends from New Jersey, Arizona, Cape Cod and the many men and women she met online through Hepatitis and transplant support groups. Her radiating smile, silliness, contagious laughter, pension for story telling, and loving motherly nature were hard to resist.
She is survived by Lloyd Howard of Eastham; sister-in-law Lee Vorderer, Lee's husband Bob Bass of Bedford; her children: Keith, daughter-in-law Katie, and their children Ashley and Shawn, of Flagstaff, Derek, daughter-in-law Tisha, and their children Amanda and Samantha, of Tucson, Harlen, Aaron, and Jillian of Truro.
A Celebration of Susie's life will be held in Truro at 25 Noons Drive, 02652, on Friday, September 19th, from 4:30-9:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donate Life, or the Hepatitis Fund International in her honor.
