WORCESTER – James W. Mitti Sr., 81, formerly of Warner Ave. died Sunday, November 28 in Holy Trinity Nursing Home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years Phyllis L. (Dee) Mitti of Shrewsbury; two sons James W. Mitti Jr. of Oxford and Scott J. Mitti and his wife Diane of Dudley; a brother George Vessio of Worcester; four grandchildren Carly and Nicholas Mitti both of Oxford and Alexander and Tyler Mitti both of Dudley; several nieces and nephews. He was born in Jamestown, NY son of William and Linyada Mitti.
Mr. Mitti was a veteran of WWII serving in both the United States Army and Navy. He worked at the former Mechanic Furniture Manufacturer’s for 40 years as a truck driver retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and the Vernon Hill American Legion Post where he was a Past Commander.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday December 1 at 12 noon in Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday November 30 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. A Trisagion Service will be held during calling hours at 6:30 PM.
