James “Coleman” Warren, 80, of Alapaha died Monday, September 8, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Kenneth Matthews, Rev. Donnie Sloan, Rev. Marv Williams officiating. Mr. Warren will be laid to rest at Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Alapaha with Rev. Payne Pitts officiating. Mr. Warren’s nephews, including Keith Newbern, Terry Warren, Ashley Durrance, Robert Roe, Jackie Drawdy, Brian Drawdy, Dewey Drawdy Jr., Tony Mauldin and Robbie Drawdy will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Warren’s remaining nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Warren was born on April 14, 1934 in Berrien County and was the son of James A. Warren and Toy Browning Warren, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles Warren and Donald Warren; two brothers; and two sisters. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Holiness Baptist faith.
Mr. Warren is survived by his wife, Faye Drawdy Warren of Alapaha; two daughters, Donna Warren Valdez of Tifton and Sherri Warren Wells of Nashville; one brother, Jimmy Lee Warren of Nashville; two sisters, Freida Rowan and Linda Sue Durrance, both of Lakeland; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kim Pitts, Jamie and April Cribb, Brad Wells, Jonathan and Jessica Wells and Brandi and Jessie Busby; and 12 great-grandchildren.
